Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This document was drafted to accurately describe how GeoLead actually works. It has not been reviewed by a qualified solicitor and should not be treated as final legal advice — please have it reviewed before relying on it for compliance purposes.

1. Acceptance

By creating a GeoLead account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using GeoLead on behalf of a company, you're confirming you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

2. The service

GeoLead lets you search Google Maps by business category and area, and export the resulting business data. GeoLead offers two data sources: a standard tier that scrapes Google Maps' own public listing pages, and an optional Google Places API tier that uses Google's official, paid API. Optionally, you can request best-effort owner-contact enrichment for results with a website.

3. Accounts and credits

New accounts receive a one-time bonus of 50 free credits. 1 credit is consumed per scraped lead on the standard tier. Additional credits can be purchased in packs; credits do not expire but are non-transferable between accounts. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use GeoLead to build a competing scraping service, or resell raw access to the scraper itself.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit checks, or account restrictions, or use the service to attack, overload, or gain unauthorized access to Google Maps, GeoLead, or any third-party system.
  • Use scraped data — especially best-effort owner-contact data — in a way that breaches applicable data-protection or marketing-communication law (e.g. sending unsolicited marketing where consent or a lawful basis is legally required). You are responsible for how you use exported data, including compliance with laws in the jurisdictions where your recipients are located.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Data accuracy — no guarantee

GeoLead is a data-discovery tool, not a data-verification service. Scraped listing data reflects whatever Google Maps currently shows and may be outdated or inaccurate. Owner-contact enrichment is explicitly best-effort and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. GeoLead makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any data provided through the service.

6. The standard-tier ToS risk

The standard tier scrapes Google Maps' own listing pages directly, which is against Google's own Terms of Service. We built it this way so you can use GeoLead's standard tier at low cost; the tradeoff is that Google may change its site or restrict scraping activity at any time without notice, which could affect data quality or availability. The Google Places API tier is the compliant alternative if this risk matters for your use case.

7. Payments and refunds

Credit purchases are processed by Stripe, PayPal, or SSLCommerz depending on your payment method. See our Refund Policy for when refunds are available.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, engages in abusive or fraudulent use, or poses a security risk to the service. You may stop using GeoLead and close your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoLead is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and GeoLead's total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of GeoLead after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
